Monday to Sunday: A Simple Days-of-the-Week Chant Kids Actually Remember

If your child can sing a chant once and repeat it all week… that’s language learning gold.

At Fun To Learn, we love using short, rhythmic chants to help children remember vocabulary naturally—especially daily-life words like the days of the week. When kids chant together, they’re practising:

  • Pronunciation (clear sounds)
  • Rhythm & stress (more natural English)
  • Listening & turn-taking
  • Confidence speaking out loud

The Days of the Week (Mon–Sun)

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

3 Easy Ways to Practise at Home (2–5 minutes)

1) The “Today / Tomorrow” game
Ask:

  • “What day is it today?”
  • “What day is tomorrow?”
  • “What day was yesterday?”

2) Clap the tricky one: Wednesday
Many kids find Wednesday difficult. Try clapping it out:
WED – NES – DAY (3 claps), then say it smoothly.

3) Weekly routine sentences
Use your child’s real schedule:

  • “On Monday, I have…”
  • “On Saturday, I…”
  • “On Sunday, we…”
